On the night of December 7, the Cool Geeks took a trip to Moanalua Elementary Schools Cafeteria and voluMES Engineering Night engineering night schoolnteered to teach students scientific experiments. From 5-8PM,Insurance News. our team members taught some kids two experiments, Birdie Bones and Balloon Skewers.
The Cool Geeks had such a blast teaching young kids about STEM related activities. This was a good chance for our team to influence the community to learn more about STEM and apply that knowledge to any real world situations.
Birdie Bones was an experiment that kids had to create hollow logs that would hold up as many pennies on a plate as it could. The objective was to create a standing base that could hold up the most amounts of pennies. For Balloon Skewers, kids had to dip a barbeque skewer into vegetable oil and stick it all the way into an inflated balloon. After numerous of trials, the kids cheered when they successfully got it all the way through.
